Oligene develops molecular tools on the basis of genome-wide gene expression profiles of clinically well-defined rheumatoid arthritis and cancer patients to aid the diagnosis of chronic joint disorders and the prediction of chemotherapeutic effectiveness of cancer drugs. Oligene works in collaboration with the Departments of Rheumatology and Pathology at the Charité Medical School, Berlin, as well as the German Arthritis Research Center.

The development of Oligene's MDRChip aims to provide a rapid and reliable selection of effective chemotherapeutic agents against individual cancer types.

The development of Oligene's ArthritisChip ensures the safe and early diagnosis of rheumatoid arthritis and identifies novel molecules as targets for specific therapeutical drugs.

Oligene's bioinformatics branch has established a controlled workflow framework using state-of-the-art procedures of analyzing, interpreting and integrating DNA gene expression experiments.
